About the role
Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC), located in Reno, NV, is recruiting for a full-time Equipment Mechanic 2.
Responsibilities
- Under general supervision, maintain, repair, and modify fleet equipment and golf carts comprised of a variety of light, medium, and heavy automotive and maintenance equipment as well as specialized mechanical equipment and machinery including landscape/grounds equipment, computerized testing equipment, and diesel-fueled electric power generators.
- Evaluate campus vehicle and equipment program needs for capital planning/budgeting.
- Provide vendor supervision/contractor oversight as assigned.
- Maintain necessary records and prepare required reports.
- Keep all equipment maintained and working safely.
Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized automotive/equipment repair apprenticeship program; OR
- Completion of the Equipment Mechanic-In-Training program in Nevada State service; OR
- One (1) year experience as an Equipment Mechanic I in Nevada State service; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
- A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition for continuing employment.
- Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check upon hire.
Schedule
Full time; Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. This is subject to change based on organizational needs.
Pay
Grade 31 (Step 01, $27.09/hr)
