Equipment Manager

About the role

The Madison Capitols are seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to join our team. The individual must be driven to consistently fulfill their responsibilities to the standards expected by the organization. The Equipment Manager will be responsible for the overall maintenance of the team locker room and equipment, player laundry, skate sharpening, ordering and maintaining supplies and equipment for the team, and repairing all player equipment as needed. They will work with our hockey operations staff on a daily basis for scheduling purposes.

Responsibilities

• Ordering all on-ice equipment including uniforms, sticks, skates, tape and goalie equipment
• Ensuring equipment and supplies are inventoried properly and additional orders are made in a timely fashion
• Maintaining equipment and supplies in good working order
• Preserving locker room cleanliness and order on a regular basis
• Sharpening player skates and all repairs needed for skates and other equipment
• Adequate sewing ability to repair jersey patches, name bars, and other issues that will arise
• Inspection of player equipment and laundry to ensure it meets health and safety standards
• Cleaning equipment, towels, and all other player laundry on a regular basis
• Strong communication with players and coaching staff on a regular basis
• Travel to all away competitions for exhibition, tournament, regular season and playoffs
• All other duties assigned by General Manager

• Highly motivated, outgoing personality with a strong work ethic and desire to excel in sports
• A high level of professionalism, confidence, enthusiasm and personal accountability
• Willingness to learn and ability to work within a team atmosphere
• Ability to work a non-traditional work schedule including some nights and weekends
• Ability to multi-task and maintain strong organizational skills in a fast paced environment
• Extremely coachable and willing to learn everyday
