About the role
This role is for an Equipment Manager position with Bechtel Equipment Operations. Candidates will support projects both on and off-site, including potential mobilization to job sites.
Responsibilities
- Complete requisitions for maintenance, parts, and equipment as needed.
- Provide on or off-site project support for scheduling and forecasting.
- Maintain construction equipment schedules for projects.
- Monitor project's equipment plan, forecast, and actuals.
- Analyze, interpret, and generate reports including asset management control.
- Participate in weekly equipment meetings and ad-hoc coordination meetings.
- Monitor activities of proposed subcontractors or vendors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
- Manage equipment data information and transfers in the database.
- Review and facilitate payment of invoices.
- Provide support and guidance to assist the project equipment management team as required.
- Review and adhere to execution plans and standard work processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, business, or a scientific discipline and 5-8 years of relevant experience, or 9-12 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
- Knowledge of construction equipment, such as earthmoving equipment, cranes, heavy trucks, trailers, forklifts, generation equipment, and rigging equipment.
- Understanding of equipment warranties, performance guarantees, and equipment fitness for use.
- Knowledge of multi-discipline construction and/or operating functions.
- Knowledge of safety requirements and practices.
- Knowledge of heavy-industrial equipment management work processes and procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, database applications).
- Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment.
- Knowledge of subcontracts and the responsibilities of contractors and subcontractors.
- Excellent customer relations and communication skills.
Skills
- AEMP Equipment Management Specialist (EMS) or Certified Equipment Manager (CEM) certification preferred.
- Planning and scheduling experience preferred.
- General construction equipment knowledge preferred.
- Financial background preferred.
