Responsibilities

  • Provide recommendations to repair or replace poorly functioning equipment (10%)
  • Efficiently prioritize repair schedule to ensure an uninterrupted production schedule (10%)
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems including brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems; detect imperfections, potential problems, safety issues, and/or malfunctions (10%)
  • Provide improvements required to ensure compliance with safety regulations to the DC and safety team (10%)
  • Ensure the department is appropriately stocked with parts and tools needed to perform the job (10%)
  • Perform preventive maintenance actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, etc. (10%)
  • Replace broken or defective parts from stock or order replacement parts for major repairs (10%)
  • Modify and test equipment to improve systems uptime and reliability (10%)
  • Update and review daily maintenance logs (10%)
  • Strictly follow all safety policies and procedures (10%)

Requirements

Education/Certifications or Equivalent: 2-3 years of technical maintenance or related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.

  • Understanding of safety guidelines
  • Able to read and understand blueprints and technical reference manuals
  • Understanding of equipment operation and maintenance procedures
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work well independently
  • Good judgment, as direct supervision may not always be immediately available

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently
  • Ability to perform repetitious arm, wrist, and hand movements required for maintenance and service procedures
  • Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead and to work in or under equipment
  • Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Pay

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual pay will depend on factors including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements.
