Job Summary

The Equipment Finance Documentation and Funding Specialist supports the Equipment Finance department by managing documentation practices, ensuring regulatory compliance, and facilitating customer service.

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions

  • Collects all required loan/lease documentation from vendors, customers, brokers, prospects, HomeTrust Bankers, and Equipment Finance personnel.
  • Ensures accuracy and completeness of loan and lease information.
  • Provides superior customer service to internal and external customers, working with vendors and brokers to increase contract volumes.
  • Affirms adherence to regulatory and compliance procedures.
  • Processes commercial loan and lease modifications and renewals, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and appropriate follow-through.
  • Completes Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) filings and monitors UCC continuations and cancellations.
  • Maintains lien perfection on titled equipment, verifies and tracks insurance, calculates sales and property tax, and monitors lease transactions.
  • Assists customers with questions related to loan or lease servicing.
  • Supports all aspects of equipment finance documentation, funding, booking, invoicing, payment processing, ACH and wires, customer service, and other transactional processes from inception to conclusion.
  • Maintains confidentiality and security of sensitive information.

Education Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Required 3+ years of equipment financing and leasing experience or similar experience in another industry.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as equipment finance systems and Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to understand and use bank policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and manage exceptions.
  • Familiarity with federal and state banking regulations pertaining to lending and consumer finance, including fair lending laws, the Bank Secrecy Act, and the US Patriot Act.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and effective time management skills.
  • Above average communications skills with emphasis on listening and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Operations Management, or equivalent working experience in a related industry.
  • 1+ years of experience in a lending department of a bank.
  • Experience in equipment financing products, pricing, and documentation.
  • Experience in a customer service-oriented business environment.
  • Previous experience with Commercial Finance Agreements (CFA), equipment loans, and all equipment lease documentation.

Work Environment, Physical Requirements

  • Physical demands include reaching, sifting, lifting up to 25 lbs., finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, and hearing.
  • The employee will frequently communicate and must be able to exchange accurate information with others.
  • The employee may need to move around their office to attend meetings and access files, machinery, or other job-related tools.
