Equipment Engineering Technician: Night Shifts
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain various wafer processing tools as directed by management, equipment engineers, and senior technicians.
- Run equipment to validate corrective actions were successful.
- Cook up/reactive and scheduled preventive maintenance on various wafer and assembly processing tools to ensure optimal uptime.
- Track, record, and communicate progress of maintenance work being performed on Fab, Back End, and Assembly equipment.
- Train and mentor new team members.
- Work independently and in a team environment when required.
- Apply appropriate troubleshooting skills to correctly repair common failures.
- Aid senior technicians and engineers in data collection to resolve recurring equipment issues.
- Utilize available training materials, aids, and certification requirements to assist in meeting assigned personal improvement goals.
- Participate in team meetings for continuous improvements.
- Absenteeism for vendor offsite training as required.
- Be a member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
- Coordinate maintenance activities with EES Manager and EES Engineers/Technicians.
- Provide timely updates/communications on Equipment status to Management as well as Camstar System.
Education & Experience
Preferred: Minimum Education - Military Electronics certification or AS technical degree in electronics preferred. Expected Minimum Years Of Related Experience - 2+ years experience maintaining wafer processing equipment.
Skills
- Practical knowledge and application of electronics, mechanics, vacuum theory, math, computers, and testing.
- Basic computer skills and software programs (i.e. Microsoft products).
- Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and ability to learn the operational concepts of systems and how to perform diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques to solve more complex operational and system problems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, pneumatic diagrams, flow charts, and cause and effect diagrams.
- Ability to set up, operate, and interpret output of test equipment to include, but not limited to oscilloscopes, digital volt-ohm meters, current and voltage sources, and chart recorders.
- Appropriate training materials, aids, and certification requirements to assist in meeting assigned personal improvement goals.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical instructions.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries.
- Understand and apply mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms for data analysis as required.
- Problem solving: Able to troubleshoot intermediate issues with little to no guidance.
- Initial responder for unscheduled down tools.
- Knowledge of how to read electronic schematics and mechanical blueprints.
- Follow both written procedures and verbal instructions, in the preventive maintenance of wafer fab equipment.
- Self-motivated and able to organize and manage daily work as directed by management, Equipment Engineer, and/or senior technicians.
- Organized and able to balance planned and unplanned activities in a timely, professional manner.
- Able to effectively communicate progress and completion of tasks.
- Ability to mentor junior team members.

Physical Requirements
- Work in a Class 100/1000 clean room.
- Wear full clean room attire.
- Work with and/or around chemicals such as acids and solids.
- Work with and/or around gases, both hazardous and non-hazardous.
- Stand for up to 10 hours at a time.
- Lift 50 pounds or push/pull up to 150 pounds.
- Flexibility to work a compressed shift (alternate between 3 and 4 consecutive 12-hour shifts weekly) or Monday – Friday 9.5 hours shifts and when needed.
- Must be able to pass and maintain an ERT clearance through periodic physicals.
