Equipment Engineer-Implant
About the role
TSMC, the global leader in semiconductor foundry technology, is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic Implant Equipment Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team at TSMC WA. Responsibilities
- Equipment Monitoring: Learn to utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) and real-time monitoring methods to track and analyze equipment performance.
- Preventative Maintenance: Collaboratively plan, coordinate, and perform preventative maintenance on advanced tooling alongside our skilled technician team.
- Continuous Improvement: Support the development and implementation of engineering projects aimed at improving tool reliability, availability, and cost efficiency.
- Yield & Quality Support: Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues to reduce scrap, lower costs, and continuously improve product yield and quality.
- Inventory Management: Support and maintain the spare parts inventory to ensure minimal tool downtime.
- Proactive Problem Solving: Maintain high self-motivation to investigate equipment abnormalities, initiate corrective actions, and prevent future occurrences.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related engineering discipline. (Master’s degree is a plus, but not required).
- Experience: 0–2 years of experience. This is an entry-level role; prior internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing or semiconductor environment is highly preferred but not required.
- Technical Foundations: Basic understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) principles.
- Core Skills: Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Academic/Practical Background: A solid foundational background in Electronic, Electrical, or Mechanical engineering principles.
- Preferred Skills: Exposure to or basic understanding of High Vacuum systems (turbo, cryo pumps) or ion implantation systems (such as AMAT xR/Quantum or VIISion80) is a strong plus.

Work Location & Schedule
This position operates on-site at our Camas, Washington location during core business hours, Monday through Friday 8 am – 5 pm; however, there may be occasions when additional hours are necessary to meet project demands.
Total Rewards
Pay Transparency & Other Compensation: At TSMC, your base pay is just one component of your comprehensive compensation package. For new hires in this position, the starting salary typically ranges between $87,000 and $106,764 per year. The full salary range for this Job Grade extends from $87,000 - $115,580 depending on factors such as skills, qualifications, education, experience, tenure, and position level. TSMC’s total compensation package also includes market-competitive pay, profit sharing and incentive bonuses, and tuition assistance.
