What You'll Do

  • Drive ramp of new production lines by characterizing baseline performance and capability of each system and drive actions to maintain or improve performance as measured by product quality and tool availability
  • Lead initiatives to improve safety and ergonomics of production equipment, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices
  • Design, fabricate, install, and modify equipment improvements, including managing bidding and quoting processes
  • Collaborate with Controls Engineers and technicians to troubleshoot and optimize processes using PLC, HMI, or tool management software
  • Develop detailed maintenance instructions for complex and ambiguous repair tasks
  • Generate and maintain documentation including machine and process specifications, drawings, BOM, spare parts, PFMEA, control plan, process flow chart
  • Analyze production with statistical software (JMP or Minitab preferred) to understand manufacturing uptime, availability, and reliability metrics—yield, OEE, cycle time, quality and investigate bottlenecks to identify root cause and countermeasure to maximize throughput
  • Integrate machine interactions with the plant-wide Manufacturing Execution System (MES)

What You'll Bring

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience
  • Proven experience in ramping equipment into manufacturing, including automation, hydraulics, pneumatics, electromechanical systems, and motion controls
  • Experience in high volume manufacturing involving one or more of these areas is highly desired: Metal Forming, Component Feeding, ultrasonic welding, Laser Welding, Electrolyte Filling and Quality inspection
  • Extensive Proficiency with 3D (SolidWorks, 3Dx, Catia) and 2D CAD (AutoCAD) platforms
  • Preferred experience with layout creation, tooling drawings, pneumatic, and electrical schematics
  • Proven ability to operate under pressure while managing multiple priorities simultaneously
