About the role
We are looking for a hands-on Equipment Engineer to support and improve the automated manufacturing equipment used to produce next-generation electrical systems. You will build and modify tooling and fixtures, support new product introduction by adapting existing equipment, and troubleshoot issues on the production line. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the manufacturing floor, solving real-world mechanical and automation challenges, and making production equipment run better every day.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software-related equipment issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
- Partner with Equipment Engineers, Process Engineers, and Production Operators to identify opportunities for equipment improvements.
- Support and improve automated production systems used in the manufacturing of advanced electrical components.
- Work hands-on with roll-to-roll web handling and processing equipment, including rollers, drives, edge guides, brakes, and steering mechanisms.
- Drive root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions for recurring equipment issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment uptime, efficiency, and production output.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience working with manufacturing equipment, automation systems, or production machinery
- Experience supporting, designing, assembling, or maintaining automated manufacturing equipment
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work hands-on with manufacturing equipment and collaborate closely with production teams
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond quickly to equipment issues in a fast-paced environment
