Equipment & Controls Technician #4069
Primary Purpose
To implement and maintain electrical power circuits and equipment, control and automation systems, electronic and pneumatic equipment used in pipeline, pump stations, compressor stations, and measurement facilities.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for all activities related to electrical and control integrity including design, installation, inspection, maintenance, operation, troubleshooting, repair, calibration and adjust various pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, electronic, and Programmable Logic (PLC) control systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance checks on pumps, compressors, drivers and auxiliary equipment.
- Perform Inspection and Maintenance (I & M) checks on all control systems.
- Maintain electrical switch gear and power distribution.
- Perform advanced engine/compressor/pump analytical testing and troubleshooting.
- Evaluation/development/implementation/maintenance of facility grounding systems.
- Responsible for the general upkeep, maintenance, janitorial, and housekeeping duties of all facilities and equipment as needed.
- Complete appropriate documentation and paperwork.
- Oversee the construction, maintenance and/or work activities performed by third parties.
- Demonstrate performance toward operational excellence.
- Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
- Must communicate clearly using high level verbal and listening skills.
- Maintain a regular and dependable attendance record.

- Will work non-traditional hours as needed.

Education
- Minimum requirements: Associates degree from an accredited institution in a technical field or a related discipline.
Experience/Specific Knowledge
- Understand and operate electronic test instruments.
- Excellent record of safe work practices.
- Working knowledge and experience preparing drawings of electrical circuits.
- Working knowledge and experience reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical blueprints and diagrams.
- Working knowledge and experience applying and interpreting results from common electrical measurement instruments (voltmeter, ammeter, ohmmeter, oscilloscope, etc.).
- Working knowledge and experience applying and interpreting results from common electrical measurement instruments (voltmeter, ammeter, ohmmeter, oscilloscope, etc.).

- Working knowledge of National Electric Codes.
- Ability to estimate installation, operating and maintenance expenses associated with electrical and control systems.
- Ability to complete work assignments with minimal supervision in an acceptable time frame.
- Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Office 365, and Teams.
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations
- May be required to achieve and maintain certifications as required to perform job duties.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).

Physical Demands
- Capable of lifting heavy objects, including up to 66 pounds from floor to waist and carrying that object up to 10 feet.
- Capable of carrying heavy objects weighing 45 over distances up to 300 feet and objects weighing 59 pounds over distances of 15 feet.
- Able to push and pull objects (pallet jack, carts) using up to 100 pounds of force over distances of approximately 120 feet.
- Ability to generate up to 60 pounds of vertical force.
- Required to perform manual material handling activities, including overhead lifting, waist-level lifting, and floor-to-waist lifts, with weights ranging from 13 pounds to 94 pounds.
- Adept at reaching overhead, at shoulder, waist, knee, and floor levels, including shoulder circumduction and lateral flexion.
- Able to bend, twist, pivot, and perform stooping, crouching, kneeling, and climbing motions frequently.
- Must be able to tolerate environmental conditions such as exposure to noise, vibration, extreme temperatures (hot and cold), and wet conditions, both weather and non-weather related.
Working Conditions
- Varying working conditions from office settings to working outdoors in inclement weather conditions.
- Working with and around industrial hazards.
- Frequent travel, sometimes overnight, may be required.
- Occasional overtime may be required.
- Living environs will be relevant to the work location to address call outs and emergency response.
- Required to respond to after hour “call outs” due to equipment and/or operational problems as needed.
- Will be required to carry a cell phone and be available to respond during working and non-working hours.
- The selected candidate must successfully pass a drug screening, background check, and fit-for-duty examination, including credit reports for specific positions—after receiving a job offer and before commencing employment.

Compensation
Compensation ranges are provided in good faith based on what we anticipate when researching wages for this position at the state and national levels. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
