About the role

A typical day involves maintaining continuous system operation, troubleshooting various systems, and ensuring preventative maintenance is completed on a regular schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain continuous system operation by adjusting, repairing, replacing, or modifying automation/robotic system components
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and components and return to serviceability
  • Ensure preventative maintenance of robotic and process support equipment is completed on a regularly scheduled basis
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams, and complex automated system drawings
  • Collaborate with the automation team in the qualification process of automated systems
  • Assist engineers in developing and designing hardware and software required for automation solutions per specifications
  • Identify machine malfunctions through troubleshooting and isolate the failure mechanism
  • Repair the failure mechanism in the most cost-effective manner
  • Perform preventive maintenance, calibrations, and re-qualifications on equipment at specified intervals
  • Assist process technicians and engineers with the installation and removal of process equipment
  • Analyze and implement corrective action reports and process tracking mechanisms
  • Disassemble instruments and equipment and inspect components for defects
  • Align, repair, replace, and balance component parts and circuitry
  • Assist engineers in formulating test, calibration, repair, and evaluation plans and procedures
  • Perform both software and hardware maintenance at the highest level

Requirements

  • Computer skills
  • Experience with material handling, automation, and/or robotics equipment
  • Understanding of PLCs

Skills

  • Electronic Assembly: schematics, PCB loading, mechanical assembly
  • Cables: crimping, harness assembly, connector/wire soldering, cable prepping
  • Testing: oscilloscope, cable & harness testing, troubleshooting, component testing, logic analyzer
  • Machine Operations: automatic component insertion equipment, surface mount insertion equipment, wave soldering
  • Mechanical & Electrical Tools: power air guns, taps & dies, alignment tools, measuring tools

Schedule

6:00 PM - 6:00 AM, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Saturday
