As an Equipment Associate, you will perform a variety of manual tasks to ensure smooth branch operations and support service technicians, sales staff, and other personnel in meeting customer needs. This role offers advancement opportunities into Driver and Service Technician development programs.
Responsibilities
- Check equipment for damage, hours used, mileage, and fuel level upon return to the branch
- Inspect rental equipment for safety decals, safety compliance, and ensure equipment is in good working order
- Clean all equipment and maintain a clean work area
- Load and unload rental equipment, and prepare equipment for rental
- Checkout and demonstrate equipment for customers
- Drive a delivery truck to pick-up and drop-off equipment
- Perform routine checks on equipment to ensure safety and functionality (may include inspecting, washing, repairing, and storing)
- General facility maintenance and minor repairs
- Use of hand tools (e.g., drill, rivet tool) as needed
- Ensure supplies are onsite and organized
- Accurately load trucks for the next day with cleaned and repaired units
- Maintain a clean, organized yard and shop
- Assemble, load, and unload equipment; assist with deliveries
- Verify delivery tickets and returns for accuracy
- Greet customers and assist with inquiries about equipment
- Suggest equipment and supplies to meet customer needs
- Complete maintenance, minor repairs, and cleaning of mobile storage units
- Paint fleet equipment as directed
- Perform jobsite installations and minor repairs on HVAC and climate control equipment
- Report equipment condition before and after usage
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record (CDL required or ability to obtain for Trucking Center roles)
- Effective communication, multitasking, and strong teamwork skills
- Diligent attention to safety
- Superior customer service skills
- Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
- Ability to work effectively in all weather conditions (for outdoor roles)
- General knowledge of yard equipment and loading/unloading trucks (preferred for some roles)
- Experience operating forklifts (preferred for Trench Safety roles)
- Basic knowledge of HVAC equipment and tools (preferred for Climate Solutions roles)
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools (e.g., cordless drill, air tools, saws, forklift)
- Knowledge of trench safety equipment (advantageous for Trench Safety roles)
- Some knowledge of computers and phone apps (for Trench Safety roles)
