Position Details

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is an equal opportunity employer. This position is a 12-month Limited Term (LT) and may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent. The California Air Resources Board’s (CARB) mission is to promote and protect public health, welfare, and ecological resources through the effective and efficient reduction of air pollutants while recognizing and considering the effects on the economy of the State.

Duties

The EEO Officer serves as an objective advisor to management, employees, and the public on internal EEO programs and external Civil Rights Compliance Program matters. This position requires knowledge of employee supervision, program management, and equal employment opportunity. This position requires sensitivity, good judgment, proactive program management in a deadline-heavy environment, and the ability to reason logically and creatively, and maintain confidentiality.

Qualifications

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Policy, or a related field, and three years of progressively responsible experience in human resources, labor relations, or a related field. Alternatively, a Master's degree in a related field and two years of experience may substitute for the Bachelor's degree requirement. Additionally, a combination of education and experience may be considered.

SROA and Surplus candidates are given priority; therefore, individuals with other eligibility may be considered in the event no SROA or Surplus candidates apply. Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s).
