About the role
The Epidemiology Program Specialist plays a crucial role in improving the health and well-being of the community. You will investigate communicable disease cases, engage with diverse individuals, provide education, conduct community outreach, and analyze cases.
Responsibilities
- Organize program activities, timelines, and resources to ensure smooth program execution
- Collaborate with program staff to achieve program objectives and deliverables
- Track program progress and maintain documentation
- Engage in community outreach efforts and organize community meetings, workshops, and events
- Maintain program documentation, including progress reports, meeting minutes, and correspondence
- Provide administrative support to program managers and coordinators, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and preparing materials
- Handle routine administrative tasks as required
- Stay informed about public health best practices and trends through ongoing learning and training opportunities
- Seek opportunities for professional growth within the public health field
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- One year of experience in the Public Health program related field
Qualifications
- Minimum one (1) year experience working in public services
- Minimum one (1) year experience providing direct client services to diverse populations and cultures of diverse socio-economic backgrounds
- Experience in data collection, client interviewing techniques, and creating computer-generated reports
- Experience using computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite, electronic health records, and web-based applications
