About the Role

This position focuses on conducting epidemiological investigations and studies to address public health issues related to chronic diseases. Key responsibilities include identifying public health problems, analyzing data, and recommending improvements to programs and services.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct epidemiological investigations and studies to identify and respond to public health problems.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data using statistical techniques to monitor disease trends and probable causes.
  • Maintain surveillance systems to monitor public health issues.
  • Design and conduct epidemiologic studies, including developing and testing hypotheses.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to state and federal agencies and public/private organizations on controlling public health problems.
  • Manage budgets, grants, and contracts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Life, Physical, Health Science, or related field.
  • Six months experience in epidemiological methods, disease monitoring, and program evaluation.
  • Six months experience in designing and analyzing epidemiologic studies.
  • Six months experience in surveillance system design and operation.
  • Six months experience in inferential statistics and data visualization.
  • Six months experience in preparing statistical summaries and reports.
  • Six months experience in providing epidemiologic direction and guidance.
  • Six months experience in budget management and contract administration.
