Epic Referrals/Cadence Analyst
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Epic Cadence & Referrals Consultant to support Epic implementation, optimization, enhancement, and production support initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong functional and technical expertise in Epic Cadence and Referrals and have hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support Epic Cadence and Referrals implementations across healthcare organizations.
- Design, configure, build, test, and deploy Epic Cadence and Referrals solutions.
- Gather and analyze business requirements from operational and clinical stakeholders.
- Translate business needs into Epic system design and workflow solutions.
- Perform system build, configuration, validation, and integrated testing activities.
- Develop and maintain documentation including workflow designs, build specifications, testing scripts, and training materials.
- Support go-live planning, command center activities, and post-go-live stabilization.
- Identify opportunities for workflow improvements and system optimization.
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide ongoing application support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional Epic teams including Prelude, Grand Central, HIM, MyChart, and Ambulatory.
- Participate in change management processes and system upgrade activities.
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards, Epic best practices, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of Epic Cadence and Referrals experience.
- Active Epic certifications in both Cadence and Referrals.
- Proven experience participating in multiple Epic project engagements.
- Strong understanding of patient scheduling, referral management, provider access, and operational workflows.
- Experience conducting workflow analysis and system design sessions with business stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

- Candidates must demonstrate hands-on experience in:
- Epic Implementations
- Full lifecycle Epic Cadence and Referrals implementations.
- Requirements gathering, workflow design, build, testing, training, and go-live support.
- Epic Cadence scheduling templates and provider scheduling configuration.
- Referral record build and maintenance.
- Decision trees, scheduling protocols, visit types, resource records, and provider records.
- Integration and workflow configuration supporting patient access functions.
- Workflow assessments and gap analysis.
- Scheduling efficiency improvements.
- Referral management enhancements.
- Operational performance improvement initiatives.
- Upgrade-related optimization and enhancement projects.
- Production Support & Maintenance
- Incident management and issue resolution.
- Break/fix support and defect remediation.
- Monthly maintenance activities and system upgrades.
- Change requests and enhancement implementation.
- On-call and post-go-live support experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Prelude, Grand Central, MyChart, and Ambulatory modules.
- Multiple Epic implementation experiences across different healthcare organizations.
- Experience in large integrated delivery networks (IDNs), academic medical centers, or multi-hospital health systems.
- Familiarity with reporting and operational metrics related to scheduling and referral management.

Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $85.00/hr.
