EPIC - Application Analyst II

Job Summary

Reporting to Inpatient Clinical or Ambulatory Manager, this individual should have the ability to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of computer systems and applications. He/she should be proficient in all skills required to facilitate complex application and system enhancements or replacement. This individual should have excellent customer service skills, along with highly effective written / verbal communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Advance understanding of JHM, along with advance proficiency in creating detailed documentation, including system design documentation, procedures, processes and data flow is imperative. The ability to support multiple concurrent projects and/or application modules is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Analysis, design, application configuration, development, communication testing and implementation.
• Works independently and relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish tasks.

Education

• Required: Associate's Degree in education or health related field with educational courses.
• Preferred: Baccalaureate Degree in education, information management or health related field with educational courses.

Experience

• Required: Three (3) year operational experience in a clinical or healthcare business operations setting or three (3) year in Information Technology.
• General understanding of the work flows in clinical or healthcare business operations.

Position Requirement(s)

• Licenses/Certifications/Registrations: Required: Complete education and pass certification in assigned EPIC application module(s) within 120 days of completed education.
• PREFERRED: EPIC certification in the module(s) being represented.
• Experience in EMR installations.

• Analyzes and resolves complex system integration problems.
• Creates pre - and post - project benchmarking metrics.
• Demonstrates an advanced understanding of the JHM clinical and/ or business operations.
• Demonstrates advanced proficiency in creating detailed documentation, including system design documentation, procedures, process and data flows, RFP's, project plans, and recommendations for system enhancements and replacements.
• Demonstrates attention to detail in data gathering, specifications development and documentation and recording.
• Communicates effectively with users, colleagues, and developers.
• Supports multiple concurrent projects and/or application modules, educates and coaches other team members and manages user expectations.
• Manages tasks, resources, and project plans for team assignments.
• May require specialized knowledge in a specific application / module / computer system.
• Completes current process analysis and data flow mapping using standard tools to effectively document and communicate findings.
• Completes approved system changes as specified and in a timely manner.
• Performs system troubleshooting in a systematic manner and solves problems within the scope of his/her control in a timely manner.
• Highly effective written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills to establish working relationships and education.
• Strong organizational skills in managing multiple priorities.
• Uses critical thinking skills regarding use of the clinical / business operations software applications.
• Develops project plans or task lists and reviews with project team regularly to manage timeline.
• Fulfills best practice system/database design principles when developing applications or making changes.
• Demonstrates expertise in technical design techniques for related software applications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook with proficiency in Microsoft Visio.
• Demonstrates initiative, creativity, and flexibility in problem resolution.
