About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Epic Ambulatory Analyst to join our team on a fully remote, long-term contract basis. This role is ideal for a seasoned analyst with deep expertise in ambulatory clinical workflows, including provider documentation, order management, and population health tools. The client has a robust roadmap of upcoming initiatives, making this an excellent opportunity for those seeking stability and continuity well into 2027.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, build, test, and support Epic Ambulatory applications to optimize outpatient clinical workflows.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and operational stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective Epic solutions.
- Configure and maintain provider documentation tools including SmartForms, SmartTexts, SmartPhrases, Navigators, and NoteWriter templates.
- Build and maintain order sets, preference lists, and Best Practice Advisories (BPAs).
- Support population health tools including risk stratification, registries, and quality measure reporting.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing sustainable fixes.
- Lead system upgrades, enhancements, and optimization initiatives.
- Develop and maintain documentation including build logs, test scripts, and workflow diagrams.
- Provide end-user support and training as needed during go-lives and stabilizations.
Requirements
- Active Epic Ambulatory certification required.
- 6+ years of hands-on Epic Ambulatory build and support experience.
- Proven track record of full-cycle implementations, upgrades, and optimizations.
- Strong understanding of ambulatory clinical workflows including provider documentation, ordering, referrals, and population health.
- Experience with Healthy Planet, Care Everywhere, and MyChart is a plus.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior consulting experience with multiple health systems.
- Experience supporting large-scale go-lives and optimization projects.
