Job Description

The EPC Project Manager will oversee all aspects of utility-scale solar projects, including project planning, budgeting, buyout, project controls/reporting, scheduling, risk management, and more. They will provide leadership and technical expertise internally and externally to ensure project success.

Position Responsibilities and Duties

  • Plan, execute, and manage significant scopes of self-performed work, managing large labor crews.
  • Plan sequencing, crew-sizes, productivity goals, and monthly labor spend.
  • Execute work and track actual results, adjusting forecasts as needed.
  • Work with the Superintendent to develop safety plans and implement safety procedures.
  • Oversee project billings and prioritize collection of aged receivables.
  • Present and negotiate change orders with the owner for timely resolution.
  • Negotiate cost-effective subcontract and material purchases.
  • Set up and implement job procedures and techniques to ensure timely buyout, shop drawing approval, and material delivery.
  • Maintain project schedule and report progress to management.
  • Manage, train, and supervise project team according to company policy.
  • Review contract conditions and ensure compliance with all contract terms.
  • Document significant project events and maintain quality control.
  • Coordinate with material suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and solve logistical challenges.
  • Negotiate and coordinate with local Contract Labor Providers to ensure sufficient manpower resources.
  • Lead regular meetings with the owner and key project partners.
  • Build and maintain relationships with the Owner, Architect, and Subcontractors.

Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture (preferred).
  • Field construction management experience (5-8 years, including supervisory skills).
  • Leadership ability to manage diverse teams in a remote environment.
  • Strong computer skills with MS Office suite and industry-standard tools like Bluebeam Revu.
  • CMiC experience (plus).
  • Fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting.
  • Thorough understanding of project management control systems (scheduling, cost control, procurement, and estimating).
  • Understanding of utility-scale PV plant construction methods, sequencing, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of utility & ISO interconnection sequences and durations.
  • Able to travel extensively (minimum 50%) and handle remote/rural assignments.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with strong people skills.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated.

  • Accuracy in proposal schedules driven by strong understanding of project variables and collaboration with internal experts.
  • Timely resolution of disputed project claims or impacts through sound schedule hygiene.
  • Broad level of scheduling competence among the operations team.
  • Methodical approach to training and development that results in a strong scheduling culture and awareness.

Pay Range

$110,448.00 - $138,060.00
