EOP/CDL

Responsibilities

• Works in street/sidewalk construction and maintenance.
• Required to have a CDL driver’s license to operate equipment necessary to accomplish the job.
• Operates backhoe/loader, street sweeper, motor grader, mowing tractors, chain saws, weed trimmers, 10‑wheel dump truck, vactor truck, line striping machine, vacuum signage machine, and line eradicator.
• Digs ditches to grade.
• Loads and unloads trucks with dirt, gravel, rip‑rap, sand, etc.
• Responsible for installing driveway culverts and storm drains to grade.
• Responsible for removing, replacing, repairing, and constructing sidewalks.
• Performs manual labor with shovels, rakes, and hoes, etc.
• Repairs dirt roads as necessary to maintain passability.
• Works in inclement weather maintaining storm‑water flow and street passability.
• Fells, trims, and removes trees of various sizes.
• Required to perform other duties as assigned such as brick, block, concrete, or carpentry work.

Requirements

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a valid commercial driver license (CDL).
• Should have 1–2 years of experience in street construction and maintenance and general carpentry.
• Mechanical skill is preferable.
• Should have the ability to supervise employees and/or work as a team member on other crews.
• Environmental working conditions: constantly work around hazardous machinery; work in high and low temperatures; very frequently exposed to wet surroundings, low noise, and outdoor settings; frequently work around electrical hazards, at night, and around loud noise; may occasionally work in cluttered areas, poor ventilation, dust or fumes, and occasionally indoors; mental stress or pressure is very frequent.
