About the role
Average annual ED volume: 42,000-46,000 patients per year.
Patient Per Hour (PPH): 2.5-3.5 patients per hour.
Trauma designation: Level I, with multiple ER ambulance bays and two helicopter landing pads.
STEMI designation: Level I.
ED beds: 40 beds including Rapid Care Path.
Physician coverage: 40 hours daily, shifts are 6a-4p, 10a-8p, 3p-1a, 8p-6a, and a new shift will be added.
Appropriate coverage: Daily APP coverage.
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech.
Backup specialties: Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Labor and Delivery, OBGYN, Neurology, Orthopedic, Pulmonary, Surgery, Urology.
Responsibilities
- Provide emergency medical care to patients in a trauma center and acute care setting.
- Manage patient flow and triage in the emergency department.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as necessary.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulations.
Requirements
- Board certification in Emergency Medicine.
- Current license to practice medicine in Missouri.
- Experience in a Level I Trauma Center preferred.
