Environmental Worker, Per-Diem, Jackson South

Responsibilities

• Vacuums or sweeps, mops and wet washes floors daily.
• Cleans the assigned patient and non-patient care areas.
• Collects and transports trash, cleans and relines trash containers with plastic bags, in accordance with daily work schedule.
• Fills soap, paper towels and toilet paper dispensers.
• Empty sharp boxes.
• Places gowns in designated storage areas as needed.
• Defrosts and cleanses of assigned refrigerators on a bi-week schedule.
• Dusts all counter tops and shelves inside/outside, also wipes of cabinets.
• Completes all cleaning of discharge patient units, as vacancies occur.
• Daily monitoring of the delivery of laundry for assigned units.
• Utilizes detergents, disinfectants, polishes, finishes, etc. in accordance with established guidelines.
• Cleaning for all isolates, warmers, IMED pumps, monitors, bill lights and any other related equipment used upon patients' discharge.

Requirements

• Generally requires 0 to 3 years of related experience.
• A high school diploma is strongly preferred.
