Environmental Worker/ Per diem/ Flexible Shift/ Housekeeping Services / Jacson West Medical Center

Responsibilities

• Vacuums or sweeps, mops and wet washes floors daily.
• Cleans the assigned patient and non-patient care areas.
• Collects and transports trash, cleans and relines trash containers with plastic bags, in accordance with daily work schedule.
• Maintains responsibility for the following duties:
  • Filling soap, paper towels and toilet paper dispensers.
  • Emptying sharp boxes.
  • Placing gowns in designated storage areas as needed.
  • Defrosting and cleansing of assigned refrigerators on a bi-week schedule.
• Daily dusting of all counter tops and shelves inside/outside, also wiping of cabinets.
• Completes all cleaning of discharge patient units, as vacancies occur.
• Daily monitoring of the delivery of laundry for assigned units.
• Utilizes detergents, disinfectants, polishes, finishes, etc. in accordance with established guidelines.
• Cleaning for all isolates, warmers, IMED pumps, monitors, bill lights and any other related equipment used upon patients' discharge.
• Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise).
• Performs all other related job duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Generally requires 0 to 3 years of related experience.
• A high school diploma is strongly preferred.
• Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
• Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with critical thinking and professional composure.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Ability to exercise sound and independent judgment.
• Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications.
