A Day in the Life and the Impact You’ll Make

Daily activities revolve around evaluating the performance, efficiency, and durability of EV and Hybrid propulsion components using high-precision dynamometers in a controlled lab environment. This engineer plays a crucial role in EV validation and calibration for OEM’s and Tier suppliers.

What You’ll Do

  • Ensure a safe work environment, compliance with OSHA and ISO 17025 standards, complete customer equipment and data confidentiality.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute environmental test programs in accordance with customer requirements and industry standards.
  • Develop test plans, procedures, and schedules for automotive component validation programs.
  • Monitor testing activities and ensure accurate data collection throughout test execution.
  • Analyze test data and identify failures, anomalies, and performance trends.
  • Prepare professional engineering reports documenting test methods, results, observations, and conclusions.
  • Interface directly with customers regarding test objectives, status updates, technical concerns, and final results.
  • Operate and oversee environmental test equipment including: Temperature and humidity chambers, Thermal shock chambers, Dust test systems, Water ingress (IP) test equipment, Corrosion and salt spray chambers, Altitude and pressure simulation equipment, Vibration and mechanical shock systems.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience with conventional ICE, EV, and hybrid powertrain systems.
  • Excellent communication skills in a fast paced and occasionally challenging environment.
  • College degree in engineering is a plus but not required.
  • Experience as a machine operator, technician, electrician, or with machine software.
  • Experience working with hand tools, overhead cranes, fork-lifts, volt meters, and knowledge of safety rules for high-voltage electricity and rotating equipment.
  • Experience calibrating equipment a plus.
  • Mastery of Microsoft software tools.
  • Experience working with test software a plus.

Training will be provided.

Physical Considerations

  • Operating a fork-lift, overhead crane, and hand-truck is required.
  • May require lifting up-to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, working in confined spaces, and climbing a ladder.
  • Ability to move and conduct work with full range of motion.
  • Ability to lift 25-50lbs (luggage).
  • Extended periods of computer-based work.
  • Extended periods of standing.

Travel Considerations

No travel required for this position.

Compensation

Actual pay is based on several factors including market location and position-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The base pay range for this position is $65,700 annually to $95,900 annually.
