About the role

This position involves consolidating, treating, storing, transporting, and disposing of hazardous waste in compliance with environmental regulations and company policies. The role requires physical activity and the operation of various equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds throughout the day
  • Operating a forklift and other mobile equipment to move containers between storage and treatment areas and to load and unload trailers
  • Completing required documentation accurately, timely, and legibly in accordance with applicable regulations and customer policies, practices, and procedures

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 2 years of prior experience working with hazardous materials
  • Ability to operate equipment, including a forklift and pallet jack
  • Ability to hear vehicle warning chimes and alarms
  • Willingness and ability to work outdoors in all climate conditions and indoors in non-climate-controlled environments
  • Willingness and ability to wear company-issued personal protection equipment including safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed shoes, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator (for gentlemen, this includes no beards)

Qualifications

  • Basic computer skills to complete web-based training
  • Ability to understand and respond to written and verbal English
  • Ability to predictably and regularly attend work during scheduled hours
  • Willingness and ability to occasionally work nights, weekends, and variable schedules as necessary
  • Ability to deal politely and professionally with customers and coworkers

Skills

  • Understanding of environmental regulations
  • Knowledge of hazardous material handling practices
  • Operational proficiency with forklifts and related equipment

Benefits

A comprehensive benefits package includes paid time off policies, health, dental, vision, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteering, and more. Starting pay is $23.00 per hour. Commencing no later than January 1, 2027, employees may also participate in an employer-sponsored 401(k) plan for retirement savings.

Pay

The starting hourly pay rate is $23.00.

Schedule

Hours may vary and may include nights, weekends, and variable schedules.
