Environmental Technician - FT

Job Summary

Auwahi Wind is seeking an environmental technician to support operations and environmental departments. Located in Kula, HI, this position offers opportunities to learn and work with a welcoming team.

Responsibilities

• Provide support in daily activities such as inspections, log readings, maintenance, and repairs.
• Assist with special projects.
• Support implementation of environmental permits and mitigation sites.
• Conduct monitoring efforts including Hawaiian Hoary Bat, Hawaiian Petrel, Blackburn Sphinx Moth, and Vegetation monitoring.
• Support out-planting of native Hawaiian plant species and monitoring of harmful non-native species.
• Support data entry, protocol development, and inventory control.
• Participate in native tree planting, recording native species data, setting insect traps, and collecting data.
• Hike extensively in remote areas to collect data.
• Maintain Hawaiian petrel burrows and monitor data.
• Collect data for SEEF and CPT trials.
• Assist with building safety checks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of relevant experience in environmental field.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and best practices.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to perform tasks in remote and challenging environments.
• Experience with GIS software and data analysis tools.

Pay and Schedule

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr. Shifts take place from 7AM-3:30PM (M-F).
