Environmental Technician

About the Role

We are seeking an energetic and versatile Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Environmental Entry Level Consultant to join our Fairview Heights location. This role is an entry-level environmental technician position, ideal for a candidate with a strong grasp of environmental science principles, industrial hygiene, and occupational safety. Flexibility, strategic thinking, and advanced knowledge of Microsoft products are essential. Experience with Dynamics 365 is a plus. This position involves assisting field teams during high-volume periods, with potential for national and international travel, though it is not a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting environmental assessments and field investigations.
• Support the development and implementation of EH&S programs and policies.
• Perform data collection, analysis, and reporting for environmental projects.
• Collaborate with field teams on environmental monitoring and compliance activities.
• Provide technical support and expertise in environmental science, industrial hygiene, and occupational safety.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License.
• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Geology, or Engineering.
• TWIC card eligible.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in EH&S (preferred but not required).
• Excellent communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with Dynamics 365 (D365) is a plus.
• Disciplined and organized with effective time management abilities.
• Teamwork-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to build and maintain a highly ethical reputation.
• Knowledge of environmental science principles, industrial hygiene, and occupational safety.
• Flexibility and strategic thinking to handle a variety of tasks.

• Able to carry equipment, as much as 30lbs unassisted.

• Able to squat, kneel, or crouch in confined spaces when necessary.
• Able to detect burning sensations on skin, etc.
• Vision must be correctable to at least 20:40 with ability to distinguish colors, good depth perception, and peripheral vision.

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $20-$25/hr. Any offered salary range is based on factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, training, location, scope of role, and management responsibility.
