Responsibilities
- Facilitate the environmental group’s water sampling and mine pool measurement programs in accordance with State and Federal regulations.
- Work with environmental management and staff to effectively collect water samples, measure mine pool elevations, and maintain compliance.
- Perform tasks independently and in a team environment with a detail-oriented approach.
- Use field and lab instruments for daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly readings.
- Maintain field and lab instruments.
- Handle data entry tasks.
- Coordinate with the lab to place sample bottle orders.
- Drop samples off to the lab in a timely manner.
- Assist environmental staff with other miscellaneous duties.
- Remain current with permit renewal effluent and 8.15A monitoring.
- Conduct all work activities in compliance with Federal and State laws and Company policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
Requirements
- Thorough understanding of NPDES permits and state laws related to the mining industry.
- 3 years of experience in Environmental for Mining or a related field (required).
- Good driving record.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends.
- Willingness to perform field work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Outlook, etc.
