Environmental Technician
About the role
AECOM is currently seeking an Environmental Technician for employment in the Midland, TX office. The position involves supporting remedial operations, maintenance, and monitoring projects throughout Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado. The ideal candidate should have experience in general construction and environmental remediation/sampling, with a preference for hands-on mechanical experience.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine fieldwork such as environmental multi-media sampling, operations, maintenance, and inspection of equipment, working under close supervision.
- Supports project staff with various operations and maintenance activities related to groundwater remediation systems, including extraction of impacted groundwater, recovery system maintenance, sample collection, and data compilation.
- Operates and maintains equipment, inspects installations for compliance with specifications, and maintains proper project documentation.
- May require OSHA 40-hour hazardous site worker training.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- US citizenship is required.
Qualifications
- Experience with various media sampling (soil, groundwater, and waste).
- Experience with health and safety programs and effective communication skills.
- Ability to obtain the Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) within 30 days of hire.
