Environmental Team Member

About the role

Maintain a high standard of overall look and feel of the store, including cleanliness and recovery standards to deliver the company’s Brand Promises. Provide friendly customer service, assist customers in shopping and locating products, and perform various store maintenance and operational tasks.

Responsibilities

• Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures.
• Dust and damp mop floors following approved procedures.
• Move equipment and products for proper cleaning and return them to correct placement.
• Clean assigned areas using assigned materials and equipment; may require mixing water and detergents to prepare cleaning solutions.
• Perform deep cleaning of key areas such as bathrooms, breakrooms, entryways, and high-traffic zones to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Maintain cleaning equipment in a neat and orderly manner; notify supervisor of supply needs in advance.
• Take initiative to identify and complete cleaning tasks without direct supervision.
• Complete all tasks assigned by supervisor.
• Perform tasks in accordance with federal, state, and county guidelines.
• Maintain positive and respectful interactions with team members and customers, even in difficult situations.
• Project a positive image and serve as a role model for other team members.
• Provide a fast and friendly checkout experience; execute cash handling to standards.
• Engage customers on benefits of the Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards; complete enrollments.
• Assist with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship from Store (SFS).
• Participate in truck unloading, stocking, and planogram (POGs) processes.
• Support shrink and safety programs.
• Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements.

Qualifications

• Retail and/or cleaning experience preferred.
• Must be at least sixteen (16) years or older.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to remain standing for long periods of time.
• Ability to move throughout the store.
• Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
• Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.

Work Environment

Public retail store setting taking care of customers; all public areas are climate controlled, though some stock rooms may not be. Some outdoor work may be required, such as retrieving shopping carts or unloading trucks. Work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings. Use of standard commercial cleaners and chemicals from cleaning supplies.

Pay

Total base pay range for this position: $17.75 - $20.60 per hour. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation in accordance with state and local laws.
