Environmental Svcs Worker

Maintains clean, sanitary and orderly condition to the assigned exterior and interior areas of the Medical Center.

Responsibilities

• Maintain interior and exterior assigned areas (offices, laboratories, bathrooms, public areas, courtyard, etc.) in a clean, sanitary and orderly condition.
• Scour and polish sinks, showers, bathtubs, tiles and other bathroom equipment.
• Sweep and mop areas, and periodically wax and buff floors.
• Clean and dust furniture, windowsills, mirrors, pictures, ceilings, doorframes, wall vents, etc.
• Polish furniture and other equipment.
• Wash mattresses, beds, and examining tables and make beds after discharge.
• Empty trash baskets and other disposals.
• Refill soap and paper goods dispensers as required.
• Operate floor maintenance equipment such as floor buffing machines and wet vacuums.
• Strip and refinish floors.
• Move patient beds and furniture within patient rooms on the same floor.
• Assist in transporting heavy items within the Medical Center as needed.
• Perform related duties as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Prior cleaning experience (preferred).
• Ability to use and/or operate common housekeeping devices such as brooms, mops, waxers, scouring pads, dust rags, etc.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions.
