About the Role

The Lead Housekeeper assists the Supervisor by performing any job in the department and leading co-workers in performing their assignments, especially the training of new employees. A Lead Housekeeper is a role model in technical skills, behavior, and compliance with department processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Supervisors and Manager with the day-to-day operations of the EVS Department.
• Ensure that Housekeepers are responding appropriately and in a timely manner to all communication methods including pages and/or radio messages.
• Ensure that Housekeepers complete their assigned daily tasks.
• Serve as additional back-up to perform all daily tasks of Housekeepers.
• Serve as a resource for employees and management in the absence of the Supervisor.
• Bring ideas/concerns to the Supervisor and participate in department decision-making.
• Train and coach current and new staff to meet department and organization standards.
• Assist with keeping Housekeepers informed of departmental changes, health system current events, etc.
• Assist Supervisor and Manager with department planning, reporting, projects, and initiatives as assigned.
• Exhibit compliance with the hospital Professional Image Standards as a model for housekeepers, especially in the areas of attitude, performance, and competency.
• Must be able to perform the professional, clinical, and/or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Requirements
