About the Role

As an Environmental Specialist IV, you will leverage functional and technical expertise in air, water, and/or waste to run projects and programs of moderate complexity that require specialized breadth of knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and provide guidance on environmental processes and policies.
  • Assess environmental risk, provide recommendations to address risk, and participate in or run the approved course of action, including required regulatory documentation.
  • Participate in environmental project planning and implementation, including scheduling, cost estimating, preparation of environmental impact assessments, and reporting.
  • Provide guidance and mentor others.
  • Prepare and submit sophisticated applications to procure environmental permits, renewals, approvals, variances, and other authorizations; coordinate with company partners.
  • Perform environmental compliance audits and due diligence investigations as needed.
  • Identify environmental training needs and provide training.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement improvements for systems and practices in air, water, waste management, and/or remediation activities for assigned areas.
  • Prepare and submit all required compliance reports and certifications; develop and maintain documentation related to environmental compliance programs.
  • Cultivate relationships between the company and regulatory agencies.
  • Interpret applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations and ensure compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum eight (8) years of environmental experience.
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with safety as the utmost priority.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills.

Key Duties

  • Assess environmental risk, provide recommendations for appropriate courses of action, and participate in implementation, including development of required regulatory documentation.
  • Coordinate regular environmental planning, scheduling, and cost estimating for operational or project support.
  • Prepare and submit complex applications to procure environmental permits, approvals, variances, and other authorizations.
  • Develop and maintain necessary documentation related to environmental compliance programs (in one or more of the following areas: Air, Water, Waste, SPCC, Hazardous Materials).
  • Perform environmental compliance audits and due diligence investigations as necessary.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement improvements in Environmental Services systems and practices.
  • Provide guidance to junior-level specialists.
