About the Role

As an Environmental Specialist II, you will apply functional and technical knowledge in air programs, specifically greenhouse gases. This position supports emissions data gathering, calculations, and reporting for greenhouse gas programs and emission inventories. You will collaborate with Field Environmental teams to understand operational changes and their impact on environmental initiatives, stay current with evolving regulations like the Clean Air Act, and guide compliance-related operational adjustments and project execution. The role includes auditing, training field staff, and working with engineering and operations teams on broader environmental initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance on environmental processes and policies related to greenhouse gases.
  • Assess environmental risk and assist in determining the appropriate course of action, including required regulatory documentation.
  • Prepare and submit reports to support trade organizations in emissions reporting and reduction efforts.
  • Conduct required environmental training for company partners.
  • Assist with the preparation of compliance reports, certifications, and documentation for state and federal greenhouse gas reporting programs.
  • Research governmental and industry standards for compliance requirements.
  • Prepare environmental reports, plans, and inventories for regulatory authorities.
  • Coordinate environmental planning, scheduling, and cost estimating for operational or project support.
  • Prepare and submit complex applications for environmental permits, approvals, variances, and other authorizations.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to environmental compliance programs (e.g., Air, Water, Waste, SPCC, Hazardous Materials).
  • Assist senior-level environmental specialists with environmental reports, plans, and inventories.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of environmental experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and strong PC skills.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with safety as a top priority.
