Environmental Specialist II/Floor Tech

Job Description

The EVS specialist assists in all operational activities, maintaining a pleasant, comfortable, and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. An EVS Specialist is responsible for:

• Collecting waste from all areas of the hospital including biohazard waste, storing in designated area for pick-up
• Disinfecting all dumpsters and waste areas
• Dusting and wet mopping floors
• Buffing, scrubbing, and recoating floors
• Aiding with laundry carts to and from floors and to the laundry room, sorting linen and distributing

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or G.E.D. is preferred
• Two to three years' experience in health care environmental services work is preferred
• Some knowledge of infection control and techniques, as well as experience with operative mechanical and electrical equipment
