Environmental Specialist

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of environmental compliance
  • Development of sustainability initiatives
  • Environmental permits management
  • Adherence to federal, state, and local regulations
  • Knowledge of NPDES, SPCC, Air permitting for minor and major sources
  • Stormwater sampling and DMR submittals
  • Annual Tier 1 and Tier 2 reports preparation
  • SWPPP development and implementation
  • SPCC plan self-certification if applicable
  • Sound knowledge of EPA submittal platforms
  • Regular site inspections for safety, health, and environmental risks
  • Creation and implementation of inspection policies and procedures
  • Training on emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics
  • Compliance monitoring and documentation of inspection findings
  • Maintenance of material safety data sheets
  • Monitoring of hazardous waste discharge and employee exposure to pollutants
  • Performance of other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and policies
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required; Master's degree desirable
  • Five years of related experience preferred
