Environmental Specialist

About the role

Serves environmental compliance programs by conducting inspections, audits, and staff assistance visits to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conducts inspections, audits, and staff assistance visits to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Provides guidance on environmental requirements related to hazardous waste, air quality, water quality, and permitting programs, including RCRA, Title V, and NPDES.
• Performs routine facility inspections, identifies compliance issues, and recommends corrective actions to support operational and regulatory requirements.
• Affixes with internal and external audits, including ISO 14001, EPAS, EPA, and state regulatory inspections.
• Collects environmental samples, analyzes data, and recommends process improvements to reduce waste and minimize hazardous material use.
• Maintains hazardous material and waste records, supports environmental policy development, and provides technical guidance to protect natural resources, public safety, and the organization's mission.

Requirements

• An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance
• Three (3) or more years experience in environmental compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or similar

Skills

• ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "TOP SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance (desirable)
