Environmental Services Worker
Responsibilities
An Environmental Services Worker is an ancillary employee who, under the direct supervision of the Environmental Supervisor, performs manual housekeeping duties in an orderly and sanitary manner for the purpose of maintaining the Hospital facilities in a clean, sanitary, orderly and attractive condition, to provide a suitable environment for the care of patients, visitors and for the work of the Hospital staff.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred at hire. Must obtain High School diploma or equivalent within 18 months of date of hire or transfer if it is not possessed at hire.
- Minimum Experience: Ability to speak, read and write basic English. Able to follow instructions. Previous experience in a housekeeping or custodial position preferred but not required.
- Required Certification/Registration: N/A
Physical Requirements
- Position will primarily be light work requiring lifting up to 25 pounds with occasional lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Occasional bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling and reaching is required.
- Requires 100% standing or walking.

Pay
The compensation range for the role is $18.74 - $19.30 hourly. Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. When determining a team member’s compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
