Environmental Services Technician - Part-time - various shifts

About the role

Careers With Purpose seeks an Environmental Services Technician to join our not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing quality care and services to seniors in a Christian environment. The position is located at GSS KS Parsons Ctr in Parsons, KS.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas.
• Empty waste baskets, sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors, and use brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
• Apply knowledge of housekeeping processes, tools, and techniques in a healthcare environment to ensure a clean and sterile environment.
• May clean various areas including patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
• Wear proper protective equipment and follow guidelines.
• Keep storage, equipment, and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
• Use pagers and other technology appropriately when needed.
• Assist in laundry areas as necessary.
• May have access to use technology applications based on location and availability of programs.
• Perform physical activities including considerable use of arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, twisting, squatting, and handling materials.
• Lift and/or move up to 40-50lbs and push/pull up to variable weight limits on flat surfaces or up and down ramps.
• Work shifts that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on patient/resident needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to use a computer and prior cleaning experience helpful.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods, and cleaning chemicals helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment preferred.

Pay

$11.00 - $17.00 per hour

Schedule

Skills

Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods, and cleaning chemicals; strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills; previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment.
