Environmental Services Technician Housekeeping

Essential Functions

• Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures.
• Use cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
• Understand procedures and properly dispose of infectious waste and trash.
• Handle and clean up emergency spills per department guidelines, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards.
• Follow all infection prevention practices (proper cleaning and disinfection protocols, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, and proper donning and doffing of PPE).
• Maintain work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated communication skills, including differentiating color‑coded labels and chemicals and following written or verbal directions.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet departmental needs.
• Demonstrated professional housekeeping experience (preferred).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to see and read information, labels, and monitors; identify equipment and supplies; and assess customer needs.
• Frequent customer interactions requiring clear communication and rapid understanding of spoken information, alarms, and issues.
• Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision, including frequent computer, phone, and cable set‑up.
• Capability to lift, pull, push, and transport equipment of varying weights (up to heavy items), work on hands and knees, and bend to set up, troubleshoot, and carry supplies.

Schedule

Shift details: Tuesday – Saturday, 2200 – 0630. Some holidays. Shift differentials are provided for evenings, nights, and weekends.

Pay

Hourly range: $17.68 – $22.99 (actual rate dependent upon experience).
