Environmental Services Technician Full Time Nights

Cleaning Duties

• Collects and removes trash from assigned patient and public areas daily.
• Sanitizes all surfaces in assigned areas.
• Stocks paper items, cleaning solutions, and other supplies in assigned areas as needed.
• Collects and stages soiled linen for pick up.
• Accesses ancillary units, restrooms, and offices in assigned areas.
• Cleans and disinfects areas containing bodily fluids in accordance with facility standards.
• Disposes of normal and biohazardous waste.

Equipment Usage

• Utilizes cleaning/trash cart and other janitorial supplies.
• Utilizes Bed Management system for tracking.

• Customer relations skills.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow both written and verbal instructions.
• Strong communication skills; must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Basic computer skills required, including the ability to operate standard office software.
• Demonstrates positive communication skills and the ability to interact with the public and staff at all levels.
• Knowledge of environmental services equipment, cleaning practices, and chemicals.
• Ability to use specific systems relevant to departmental operations.
• Must be able to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets, product labels, various reports, and perform simple arithmetic.
• Full knowledge of basic environmental duties.
• Understanding of medical terminology, ICD-9/10, and CPT-4 coding.

Education and Experience

• High School Grad or Equiv.
• 1+ year experience in a medical office.

Additional Information

• Preferred certifications: Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA).
