Environmental Services Technician - CMC (Full Time) 1st Shift

Full-time, benefits-eligible position at Carolinas Medical Center.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine tasks in assigned area, follows a 7-Step cleaning process and remakes beds after disinfecting during discharge cleaning.
  • Follows maintenance schedule for floors and carpets.
  • Cleans fixtures, furnishings, walls, woodwork, floors, stairwells, interior windows, elevators/tracks, and exteriors of equipment.
  • Empties trash, wipes and relines containers, operates compactor if necessary.
  • Replenishes disposable items such as soap, toilet paper, and paper towels.
  • Moves and resets furnishings to original locations following completion of job.
  • Performs all methods of floor care, including dust mopping, wet mopping, stripping, refinishing, spot cleaning, burnishing, and extraction using specified equipment.
  • Provides cleaning service in the facility to meet department quality standards.

Requirements

  • Requires continuous walking, bending, stooping, lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, reaching, and climbing ladders, generally indoors.
  • Contact with water, cleaning solutions, potentially contaminated waste (including sharps and other bio-hazardous waste).
  • All applicants must pass a physical ability test as a condition of employment.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and complete written forms; related experience preferred.
  • On-the-job training will be provided.

Pay

Pay range: $18.85 - $28.30 per hour.

Schedule

  • 40 hours per week.
  • Every other weekend required.
