Environmental Services Technician

About the role

The Environmental Technician is responsible for sweeping, mopping, scrubbing and waxing all rooms and halls; emptying all trash cans; scrubs emergency room, floors, walls and equipment in surgery and attends to the needs of the male patients assigned by his/her supervisor. Assist in the orientation of new employees when required. They will follow hospital policy and procedures. Additional job duties or functions, not related to Environmental Service, may be requested per administration to assist in other areas of the hospital within their capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, mops, scrub, waxes all rooms and halls as instructed by his/her supervisor.
• Empties all trash cans as instructed by his/her supervisor.
• Scrubs emergency room; floors, walls and equipment in surgery.
• Attends to the needs of the male patients.

Requirements

• Compliant with all regulations as listed in the North Caddo Medical Center employee handbook.
• Follows all Policy and Procedures in the Nursing Service Manual.
• Must review policy and procedure yearly.
• Follows job description outline.
• Complies with North Caddo Medical Center’s Customer Service Standards.
• Dresses and conducts oneself in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
• Keeps absenteeism and tardiness at a minimum.
• Performs additional duties as requested by the Supervisor.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Attends staff meetings and participates in in-services as required.
• Able to quickly understand new information and situations.
• Reliable, dependable and trustworthy. Able to complete jobs with supervision.
