Environmental Services Technician

Cleans and disinfects assigned work area according to department procedures. Removes medical waste, trash, and linens. Performs interim and restorative maintenance of hard floors, carpets, and upholstery. Fully functioning in one area of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, and stock patient rooms, offices, and ancillary areas according to established procedures.
• Remove and dispose of linens and waste streams.
• Perform interim and restorative maintenance to hard floors, carpets, and upholstery according to procedures.
• Assemble, maintain, and store equipment/supplies necessary to complete tasks according to department standards.
• Communicate and collaborate with other team members to ensure continuity and coordination of services.
• Report general maintenance and specialized cleaning requirements in work area.
• Assist visitors and employees in navigating through the hospital.
• May be expected to work across department sites for coverage and business need.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Public service and/or customer service experience in a hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial setting (preferred).

• Days Worked: Variable
• Weekend Frequency: Every other weekend
