Environmental Services Tech Associate

About the role

You can make a difference in patients' lives as an Environmental Service Technician with Corewell Health. Your contributions in this role have a direct impact on high-quality care; you'll be responsible for cleaning and disinfecting assigned work areas, removing medical waste, trash, and linens, and maintaining the appearance and condition of our floors, carpets, and upholstery. Communication and collaboration with other team members are essential to ensure continuity of service and help foster a positive work environment. No experience is required - you will be fully trained and supported and can grow and learn new skills to develop your career. Primary location: Big Rapids Hospital, 605 Oak St, Big Rapids, MI.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, disinfecting and stocking of patient rooms, offices and ancillary areas according to established procedures.
• Removal and disposal of linens and waste streams.
• Performing interim and restorative maintenance to hard floor, carpets and upholstery according to procedures.
• Assembling, maintaining and storing equipment/supplies necessary to complete tasks according to department standards.
• Communicating and collaborating with other team members to ensure continuity and coordination of services.
• Reporting general maintenance and specialized cleaning requirements in work area.
• Assisting visitors and employees in navigating through the hospital to reach their destination.
• Fully functioning within one cleaning area; may be expected to work across department sites for coverage and business need.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Public service and/or customer service experience in a hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial setting

• Approximately 20 hours per week
• Variable days worked
