Environmental Services Specialist - FT (Overnight) - Jefferson Abington

About the Role

The Environmental Services (EVS) Specialist aids in maintaining a high-quality standard of housekeeping by performing cleaning functions in assigned areas while following assigned schedules and specific methods. This role ensures patients, visitors, and staff experience a sanitary, orderly, and safe patient care environment. EVS Specialists contribute to the prevention of cross-contamination, control of bacteria and odor, and maintenance of acceptable aseptic conditions. Responsibilities may include assisting with moves, recycling, delivery of supplies, and the removal of trash and biohazard waste. The role may also involve the use of industrial cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Proper disposal of biohazards according to EPA and OSHA codes and regulations.
• Handle the disposal of environmental contaminants such as batteries, mercury-containing thermometers, and needles.
• Keep biohazard food and loading areas safe and clean of debris.
• Maintain equipment, clean carts, buckets, floor machines, and supply closets to ensure a professional appearance.
• Complete and maintain all carpet and hard surface flooring in accordance with departmental procedures.

Schedule

Workday Night shift.
