Environmental Services Project Manager
Position Specific Description
This position is in the Environmental Permitting Section of the Corporate Environmental Services Department supporting new development opportunities for NextEra Energy Resources and other NextEra Energy affiliates in Arizona, New Mexico, and other western states. This position is based from either a home office located in Arizona or New Mexico, or at the main NextEra Juno Beach, Florida Office with travel up to 25% of the time, as needed.
Primary responsibilities
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to obtain all required federal, state, and local environmental licenses, permits, and approvals for development projects
- Manage and mitigate environmental risks
- Support development opportunities and acquisitions in wind, solar, energy storage, gas generation, and other energy-adjacent projects including transmission lines and data centers
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 6+ years of experience
- Experience managing or supporting projects with the following agencies and permitting: Bureau of Land Management (BLM), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), US Army Corps of Engineers and Clean Water Act, and Endangered Species Act (ESA)
- Prior experience managing or supporting projects with the following agencies and permitting is preferred: National Historic Preservation Act, Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) Certificate of Environmental Compliance (CEC), Arizona State Lands Department (ASLD), New Mexico Public Regulation Commission (PRC), and New Mexico State Lands Office (SLO)
Compensation
Includes Base Salary and eligibility for Annual Incentive Bonus.
