Environmental Services Floor Technician (EXP)

Job Responsibilities

• Performs floor care including bonnet cleaning.
• Extraction carpet cleaning.
• Mopping & scrubbing floors.
• Buffing and waxing floors.
• Disposes of waste properly.
• Collects and distributes linen.
• Sets up rooms for meetings as assigned.
• P Practices good public relations at all times.
• Clean and outside areas surrounding the Center.
• Practices proper safety techniques in the performance of the assignment, in accordance with policy /procedures.
• Reports of employee/patients/visitor’s injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• No minimum certification required.
• Previous housekeeping experience or other service industry experience.
• Ability to clean patient rooms.
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic knowledge of floor care, carpet cleaning & equipment.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, family members, visitors and staff in the Center.
• PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: One year of housekeeping experience preferred; preferably in a healthcare setting.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to bend, twist at waist, stoop & repetitive activity.
• Climbing ladders.
• Lifting of 25 to 55 lbs.
• Walking and standing 35% to 75% of the time spent in activity.
• Able to push and pull 25 to 50 lbs.
• Reach above shoulder level or overhead occasionally.
