Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Housekeeping, Laundry, and Floorcare Departments to provide a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for residents, staff, and visitors
  • Ensure a successful housekeeping program is maintained at all times and in compliance with ISDH survey regulations
  • Ensure housekeeping, laundry, and floorcare tasks are carried out according to policy/procedure and meet quality assurance standards
  • Oversee recruitment, interviewing, and selection of housekeeping, laundry, and floorcare personnel
  • Prepare written employee performance evaluations and make recommendations for salary increases, terminations, and disciplinary actions
  • Maintain knowledge of State and Federal regulations for housekeeping/environmental issues for in-servicing purposes
  • Maintain and comply with department budgets, and be prudent with ordering supplies and equipment
  • Maintain Floorcare Schedule
  • Dispose of refuse daily in accordance with established sanitation procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality of all residents and their care to ensure residents' rights, privacy, and property are protected
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of housekeeping, laundry, and floorcare practices within the State of employment
  • Managerial and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain budgets, records, and reports
  • Personal integrity and ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and personnel
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments as a team player

A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
