You will help to make a positive impact on the patient experience by ensuring patients have what they need and that their room is up to standard. This role is a steppingstone to other careers within Environmental Services and departments within Cleveland Clinic.

Responsibilities

Clean patient rooms, ancillary areas, exam rooms, offices, waiting areas, public restrooms, discharge rooms and other assigned areas
Wipe down surfaces, clean spills, empty garbage cans, clean furniture and other tasks as assigned
Stock paper items and other supplies in exam rooms and restrooms
Inform team leader and supervisory team when low on supplies
Follow departmental policies and standard operating procedures
Follow and adhere to hospital wide and departmental quality and safety requirements

Qualifications

Complete one to three months of on-the-job training to learn departmental policies and procedures, various cleaning techniques and proper use and storage of cleaning agents and chemicals

Preferred qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

Physical requirements

Requires full body motion, including ability to perform work while lifting, bending, stooping, crouching, squatting, and reaching
Requires continuous walking and standing on hard surfaces
Requires regular handling and use of disinfectants and other cleaning agents and chemicals
Light work – Exerting 11 to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects

Schedule

A PRN caregiver in this position works varying 8-hour shifts from 7:30AM – 4:00PM. Availability to work Monday-Friday, every other weekend and holidays is required. The weekly number of hours scheduled will vary based on the needs of the Hospital.
